Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

I can't believe I haven't talked about this movie earlier.

This is a movie that needs and fully deserves to be a household name! I saw this movie many years ago, and found it had an incredible charm and lovely atmosphere, with very good characters, and even more surprising some truly heavy issues for a kid's movie. Molly played in my opinion incredibly by Natalie Portman, works at a toy store run by the quirky and quite frankly lovable Mr. Magorium played by Dustin Hoffman who brushes off such magic and love that the store is literally alive. But all is not well and Molly soon has to come to terms with well, life. And that's the most amazing thing about this movie besides it's incredible fun atmosphere and just feel good nature, the surprisingly deep and challenging things you have to face in life. The death of a loved one, to have faith in yourself and your abilities fully, to balance being an adult and yet still doing things you love. And they don't just bring it up once and leave it at that, no these are central themes of the movie! But it looks like a colorful, fun, and completely nonthreatning and nonchallenging movie. Well this is yet another example of an incredible and amazing kid's film, because some people get the fact that this is a movie little kids will see and it can address and answer some of their questions. Other people are making movies like Show Dogs. One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong. And thank God for these people who make outstanding media for kids, you do more for shaping future generations than you can even imagine. You can educate, inspire, enlighten, and of course entertain children and give them something to take with them for all of their life. This is one of those movies without a doubt in my mind. It's a wonderful, lovely, great movie with excellent acting, good issues to teach your kid, and can leave a great impression on them. It can teach them to be creative, have a love for joy and to have fun in their own way, appreciate life and happiness, and to an aging adult that is something to remember.

Game Night

Well it finally happened. It broke me.

That's it! It's over! So um...tune in next time for a new show, I guess. Game Night made me walk out. First time ever that's happened! Until recently, if I saw a movie and didn't like it, I had to deal with that shit! There was no walking out for however many hours and minutes, because I would be even more bored sitting in the lobby! Urgh, I was in a bad mood and let me tell you, those trailers didn't help, and the dumbasses in the back yucking it up at these stupid f***ing trailers, just....God! I don't even know where to start. It's bad. Like...really bad. I didn't walk out on Transformers, any of the Pirates movies past At World's End, or even Twilight. At least with Twilight you could poke fun, you could riff, this movie is so vapid and inane I had to get up and just pace up and down the hallway leading to the theater. I made it...about an hour in then I had my fill. The plot is stupid. It takes Rough Night, Clue, and Horrible Bosses 2 and it...really does not work. I'm sure the cast was trying there best but the script just flails on the floor, and trust me I can say without a doubt comedy movies are the absolute hardest films to make. Jokes are like art, it is subjective. The other people were loving it, I was rolling my eyes and losing my damn patience. So the cast tried, my favorite character was that creepy deranged cop, like that dude had me rolling because I was expecting him to just snap and shoot everybody. Would have been a better movie if they did that! And why were there scare moments? You know the ones. Music fades out, ominous droning, camera zooms in on an object, and for what? Bullshit, that's what! I can't take it. Thank God I bought alcohol this week, cause I need every drop! Oh Jesus H. Christ, this movie just pissed me off with reckless abandon. Go see Black Panther again, don't go see this. I cannot...CANNOT believe this is the movie that broke me and made me quit. It doesn't sound half bad, you know.....until you're watching it. Don't pay to see it under any circumstances. If it turns up on HBO and you need to punish yourself for something, go right ahead. I'd rather eat broken glass than do this again. I'm done. Whatever. Screw it.

Zootopia

Okay, this may be the first CGI film from Disney that I saw and actually wasn't gaga over.

I mean don't get me wrong Zootopia has an interesting idea, good characters, pretty standard plot compared to other animated films from Disney, but it was just good. It wasn't great like Inside Out was to me. Am I happy that I saw it? Absolutely! Would I buy it? Probably not. The plot is the most lackluster thing about the movie, which follows a bunny named Judy aspiring to be a police officer in the grand city of Zootopia, she finally gets there only to find that not many people believe in her abilities. She soon meets a hustling fox named Nick, and the duo soon finds out that maybe Zootopia isn't actually the utopia it is said to be, so our heroes must solve a world changing case in order to save Zootopia from being in ruins. Pretty damn standard, not much special to it besides the animals and a surprising allegory of racial issues. Yeah you heard me, a Disney movie that deals with racial issues! I can hardly believe it myself, and they do a good job of it culminating in a lesson that you would teach your kids at a very young age, that no matter what people look like you have to treat them on basis of character and morals and not outward appearances. Sounds like a friggin' preschool special but credit where credit is due. Would I recommend Zootopia? Eh, maybe. Depends if what you have seen from the movie tickles your fancy or not. It's a good movie but not something that is considered one of the most memorable and greatest Disney movies ever made, at least in my opinion. But hey, maybe you'll see something more in it than I did so if you want to see it go for it.

Horrible Bosses

What the hell, why not? It's an awesome movie and it deserves reviewing.

Horrible Bosses is a hilarious movie centered around the one thing that everybody thinks about at least once, murdering their boss. You're a liar if you say you've never thought about that, everybody has had a rubbish boss at least once. So our story follows three friends, each of which have their own horrible bosses and they soon get sick of it and decide to kill each of them. Hijinks and comedy ensue. Simple plot, but the comedy and the characters are what saves the film from mediocrity. I'm actually really happy this is a rated R comedy and not PG-13 cause they can do so much more with an R rating. Like Jennifer Aniston's character is this complete slut who constantly hits on this guy and gives whole new examples of sexual harassment for years to come, and it is the most hilarious part of the movie because they could go all out with the dialogue and the situations. And any film that has Kevin Spacey in it is immediately awesome (Except for Superman Returns.)! You really can't just talk about this movie, you need to see it to understand why it is so funny. I was hesitant about the film when I saw the trailers, but eventually I sat down to watch it and I greatly enjoyed it. A damn good comedy, with memorable scenes and an all star cast. What more could you ask for? And that is it for this week viewers, thank you so much for tuning in. Next week, I really want to hit up some more recent films cause there's actually a bit out now that I wanted to see so to Redbox we will go...
